Learning about numbers with clocks
Even though telling time isn't really a Common Core Standard for kindergarten, I still think it is a valuable experience for kindergartners to have. Just think of all the math skills involved in telling time...... number recognition, counting by ones and fives, understanding big and little, understanding of the passage of time i.e. past and present.... So my teaching partner, Lea, and I created this cute little activity for our students to do at a math center this week. The kids really enjoyed it and because we included both telling time to the hour and the half hour, it was mildly differentiated. We used a spring theme to brighten up the mid-winter blues.... spring WILL be here soon, right??? I posted pictures of my students using the activities on my blog. Click on the product image here to find it in my TPT store. Have fun!
