Yes, believe it or not, some darlings just don't like to do homework! Who would have guessed that? So, when it comes to middle school, I have found the best way to handle this is to give them 2 "get out of jail free" cards! On the 3rd strike----this notice goes home! The notice provides you (the teacher) with documentation containing student and parent signatures, plus it informs the parent of the child's efforts in class.....or lack thereof!! In addition, it also states that the next time the student comes to class without homework, the consequence will be morning/afternoon detention!
I know.....sometimes, teaching isn't always cake and ice cream....we have to be the "bad" guy too!
