Contractions can be a hard concept to grasp for many students. For my classroom of ELLs it was especially difficult. The amazing contraction surgery project wasn't enough. So, I created some contraction worksheets for my students to practice this concept.
These worksheets are designed to follow the gradual release of instruction model. Start whole group and work your way toward independence with these fun worksheets that feature my cats Max and Ellie. Included is a short bio of these two cuties, to make the worksheets even more engaging.
To see my class doing contractions in actions you can click here. To download this freebie please visit my TpT store by clicking any of the images below.
I hope your students enjoy these worksheets as much as mine did! With these worksheets my students have become contraction superstars! They find them everywhere and can tell me exactly which two words made them!
If you do use these worksheets, please do leave feedback! I so appreciate the feedback I've received so far.
Happy contractions studies!
Laura
