When teaching my students about scientific variables and fair tests, I use the mnemonic: Cows Moo Softly.
This helps students to think about which things they will Change, Measure and keep the Same.
Visit my blog to read more about how I teach science in my room.
I have made two freebies for you as well. One is a set of signs, and the other is a worksheet. You can use them together or alone to help your students to understand variables in science.

Teaching about Variables
I am very lucky because I really enjoy my job. In my time as a teacher, I have taught across all age groups in the primary school and at many different schools. I hope that through my blog I can contribute to the on-line community of teachers who work very hard to inspire the next generation. This year I am teaching Year 2 (mostly seven-year-olds).
