Beyond the ABC Song: Parent Checklist

Isn't it fun to listen to little ones proudly singing the ABC Song, right down to "elemenopee"? They are so proud of themselves, and rightly so. "Knowing" the alphabet is a big step along the road to literacy!

As teachers, we know that "knowing" the alphabet involves so much more than singing the song. Our students must master saying (not singing) the alphabet, identifying written letters, matching uppercase and lowercase forms, writing the letters, and so much more!
