Learning short vowel sounds can be a bit tricky for our young readers. Help your students discriminate between the sounds with these short vowel sticks. Begin by saying a sound and have the students hold up the correct stick. Increase the difficulty by providing a CVC word (e.g. "sun") and having them hold up the correct stick. This activity can be easily differentiated to meet the needs of your students. Great for small group instruction!
