Snowball Sentences are perfect for helping students develop descriptive writing and
practice oral reading fluency!
Similar to how a snowball gets bigger with more and more snow, sentences can also grow bigger with more and more details! Each snowball in the row represents an expanded version of the one before it. With the printable below, students can develop three descriptive sentences using a snowball progression.
Students can also use expanding sentences for fluency practice - scooping and phrasing with each snowball's additional phrase. Model with the printable below and then use the student's snowball writing (above) to practice fluency with a partner!
