I use this little songbook to integrate literacy into my science unit on Force & Motion. The kids love to sing and the lyrics provide a chance for the kids to get up and move, too. The book is full of simple songs that teach children 8 different ways objects move:
• straight
• zig zag
• round and round
• back and forth
• side to side
• up and down
• fast
• slow
If "making copies" has become a budget issue at your school, write each song on a piece of chart paper and use it in a shared reading format. Or, use a projector to display each song for the whole class to see. They'll be dancing and moving (and learning science concepts) in no time! :)
