Teaching about Germs!

At the beginning of each year, I like to have the "germ talk" with my class.  I like to teach them the importance of washing hands and keeping our classroom clean and as germ free as possible.  This would also be great to do before flu season hits also.  I found that doing it at the beginning of the year meant that it could help teach our procedure and expectation for washing hands and cleaning our classroom.  

To teach about germs I would read the book, Germs.  We would have a discussion after and talk about germs and staying healthy.  Then we would do a little demonstration with glitter and soap to show the importance of washing hands with soap versus just with water.  

Then I would have them go back to their seats while others finished up the demonstration and fill out this freebie which reviews what we learned about that day.
