This year I discovered a new book...at least it's new to me. "The Name Jar" is a sweet story that celebrates our differences. Learning the elements of a story through a story map is easy and effective. Try one with your class. Learning to write a strong sentence is easy when the child knows the topic...themself. Write about what makes us unique. Like Unhei's grandmother says in the "The Name Jar"... You are different...That's a good thing!
