Hello! It's Lisa from Pawsitively Teaching. St. Patrick's Day is the perfect time to share this rainbow review game.
I set this game up to review subtraction facts, but it could just as easily be used to practice addition facts. This game is played following the general concept of Chutes and Ladders. The game is played in partners. To begin the game, both partners start on one square. The first partner flips over two cards and find the difference between the two numbers. Then, they move their game piece (I used Spring erasers) that number of spaces. If a rainbow is landed on, you get to move your game piece to a higher number on the board by sliding on the rainbow. If a star burst is landed on, you have to move back to a lower number on the board.
The kids had a lot of fun with this unit and begged to keep playing with math time was over. If you would like to try the game with your class, you can download it as a FREEBIE by clicking the image above.
