Although negative numbers isn't a part of fourth grade math, my students love this game, because they get to do "higher level" math. I show them on a number line with integers what happens when they subtract a larger number from a smaller number. Then they play the game.
When the students roll two dice, they have the choice of subtracting the larger from the smaller number or the reverse. They choose a square that has the answer and place a marker there. (I designed the squares to fit most of the cubic math materials we have.) The winner is the first to place five markers in a row.
