Sentence Strip Timelines
Sentence strips are the perfect length and width for creating timelines. I like asking students to build a timeline at the end of a unit of study, so they can see the relationship between any events we studied. I recently used the timeline activity with our famous explorer unit, but my students have also built timelines to review the sequence of events in a novel study too.
Students completed a table first to summarize the information, then we calculated the spacing we would need on the timeline and measured the increments on the sentences strip. Finally, they wrote their information in order on the timeline. To see more details and grab a blank copy of the explorer table, CLICK HERE.
Anything that integrates some math skills into language skills is always a great activity!
