As a teacher, I found I spent a lot of time teaching place value and computation, even fractions and decimals. However, I always felt the the measurement, data, and geometry strands were a bit neglected. We never seemed to have enough time to get to them at the end of the year, and the incoming students always seemed to have really weak measurement and data skills.
Here's a fun activity that will help students review and practice making pictographs. Have them come up with a question, survey each other, and then graph the data.
