Student Absences and Missed Work
I probably spend more time gathering missed work for absent students and getting it to the school's front desk (or a sibling) than anything else during the school day. All teachers dread the note requesting "make-up work". It is never the same as being at school, and you spend as much time (or more) gathering the assignments and explaining missed instruction when the student returns than you did putting the packet together.
Grab this Missed Work Form to help ease the teacher work. It will still be a pain, but it might help you give students the key materials. If nothing else, this form helps me remember to gather the correct books to leave at the front desk for the student! I hate it when the student returns and tells me they could not finish something because they did not have the book, handout, whatever.
