When it comes to studying tall tales, I always think of Paul Bunyan being the tallest of the tales. That's why I always incorporated hyperbole into any lesson I taught on Paul Bunyan. It's a fun tale, and hyperbole is a pretty fun form of figurative language for students to study. A few years ago, I created this free Paul Bunyan pop up book and hyperbole lesson. The lesson focuses on hyperbole while teaching students about Paul Bunyan.
I also wanted to incorporate art into the lesson, so added some pages that allow students to create their own pop up books of Paul Bunyan. I recommend using card stock for the art portion. Card stock usually comes in handy for a few projects throughout the school year. Enjoy!
Enjoy!
