Are you looking for something fun and easy to do these last few days of school? Or are you in charge of a summer program and looking for new ideas? Well I might have something that will work for you! My bird packet can be stretched into a one or two week unit or simply pulled out when you need a time filler. I did this with my students the last week of school. We used the information from the packet to learn about birds and then took our clip boards outside and searched for birds. I have given you basic "How to Draw" directions as well as full color photos of real birds and a finished sketch of each bird. Here are pictures of my students using the drawing techniques to sketch their birds:
