Bat Mobile--A Versatile, Interactive Learning Center

I love when I get inspiration from the Dollar Tree!  I happened to be there for another reason, but when I saw all of the bats, I knew I had to buy them.  There was an awesome blow up bat, packs of little bats, paper bats, and even bat treat bags!  Maybe you already have some bats you want to do something with.  They can even be paper bats cut from construction paper!

Check out my blog post {HERE} for the directions on making your own Bat Mobile.

Now, how to use the Bat Mobiles....

I used it in 2 ways.  The first way was a phonics center.  I wrote a word family on the big bat and words that belonged in that word family on the little bats.  I added a few words that didn't go with the word family too so kids would have to sort the words and only attach the words that went with the rule.

Another way I used it was as a math center.  This time, kids had to match addition problems with the answer.

There are several other ideas listed {HERE} as well.  I love that I can reuse it over and over for different purposes!

How would YOU use a Bat Mobile in your classroom?  I would love to hear your ideas!
