This freebie, taken from my entire Chinese New Year for Older Kids Unit, has a reading comprehension passage with questions. It tells the legend of the 12 Chinese animals who were selected to represent each year in the Chinese New Year 12 year cycle. It also comes with a chart you can use now, or for years to come! The chart lists the year and the animal for that year. This freebie is a great way to integrate reading and social studies and works well for 3rd - 5th graders.
