Imagine a world where students (and even your own children) listened carefully to everything you said... Ahhh... It's beautiful isn't it?
Well alright, that may not be realistic but I may - MAY - have a tool that can help a little bit with this dream...
Speaking and Listening Task Cards
These task cards contains sentence stems for both the listener and the speaker so that students can become more familiar with how to listen and speak in conversation.
I have placed mine on craft sticks, but that is not necessary. To add a craft stick, first print, fold back to back, and then laminate. After you laminate cut a small slit along the bottom and insert a craft stick with some hot glue on it.
Here is an image of both sides (so you can get an idea of the sentence stems):
So what are you waiting for? While this may not be the cure for students who don't listen, it may help a little! And hey, if you ever do figure out how to get students (and your own children) to listen well, please let me know! :)
