A new concept in third grade math, specifically in fractions, is introducing students to number line fractions. Since this can be a difficult transition, I like to use paper clips to help them transition from simply identifying fractions to looking at fractions on a number line. This is also a great opportunity to help students understand a unit fraction.
If you head over to my blog, you can read all about how I use paper clips to help students understand, along with downloading a few freebies to help you teach it. One is a guided activity, and the other freebie is a practice sheet! You can head over there by clicking here.
I hope you have a great day!
