Five Little Pumpkins is one of my favorite rhymes to use this time of year because there are so many different activities you can do with depending on the grade level you work with regularly. Toddlers and preschoolers can enjoy the song, create a felt board, color the book, practice counting and more. With first graders I used this text as a shared reading and put a copy in their poetry binders. My second graders used it to study punctuation, specifically dialogue punctuation. Five Little Pumpkins is perfect for October!
